2017 was another tremendous year for the Steamboat real estate market. The total numbers of transactions was up 15% over 2016 with 1,373 closed transactions. The number of listings dropped for the seventh straight year continuing the trend of increasing demand and decreasing supply. Total dollar volume also saw a double-digit percent increase over 2016.

The mountain base area remains the most desirable place to buy in Steamboat accounting for 36% of the closed transactions in 2017 and 42% of the dollar volume. The number of days homes are on the market in Steamboat continues to decrease year after year while the average price of homes remain more desirable than other Colorado mountain towns.

As inventory continues to decline and homes are on the market for less time, there has never been a better time to purchase your dream home in Steamboat.
