Spring skiing is calling…

What a month February has been with over 6 feet of snow this month already! As the days begin to get longer, we are dreaming of blue bird days spent on the slopes. While there is plenty of great skiing to be had this month, March is also filled with other wonderful events in Steamboat.

Whether on or off the slopes, there are plenty of opportunities to get outside and enjoy some spring weather.

Can’t Miss Events:

Sunset Happy Hour

Thursdays in March

Take a scenic ride up the gondola to enjoy the sunset overlooking the Yampa Valley from the Thunderhead Lodge. Head out onto the deck to capture photos followed by drinks, appetizers, and live music inside.  

First Friday Artwalk

March 6th

Take an evening stroll through participating art galleries and restaurants showcasing new artists each month. Many locations serve light appetizers as well as wine. This entire event is donation based.

Snow Volleyball Competition

March 7th and 8th

Volleyball? In March? You heard that right, this highly anticipated tournament is a great way to soak up some sun and watch what is sure to be the craziest volleyball tournament you’ve ever seen.

Moonlight Snowshoe Tour

March 9th

Along with their other wonderful tours throughout the month, the moonlight snowshoe tour led by Yampatika is a real crowd pleaser. By the light of the full moon take a guided tour around the trails of Emerald Mountain.

Luck of the Irish 7k

March 14th

This 7k run/walk is a great way to get in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day.  The route will take you through historic downtown Steamboat. Furry friends and costumes are highly encouraged.  

Snowshoe Through History Happy Hour

March 18th

Join the Tread of the Pioneers Museum as they celebrate Women’s History Month at Legacy Ranch. This guided snowshoe tour around the ranch will be followed by hot beverages and a historical count of Elizabeth Hutchinson, a pioneer rancher of the Yampa Valley.  

Ag Appreciation Week

March 21st through 28th

Agriculture is such an important part of life in the Yampa Valley. The Community Ag Alliance is celebrating the importance of agriculture with various events throughout the week. From educational talks, to farmers market breakfast featuring local products, ag appreciation week is a wonderful way to give back to the community.
