We have had a fantastic winter in Steamboat and it’s not over yet! Often times March is when we see our heaviest snowfall of the year and also some of the year’s biggest events. From live music to historical events to epic mountain challenges, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Stars Mountain Challenge
March 2nd
A charitable on-mountain challenge that teams up Olympians, Paralympians, and top-tier athletes for an wonderful event. Come out and support STARS (Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports), a wonderful program bringing sports to people with cognitive and physical disabilities. This event also supports Wounded Warrior programming and cancer survivors.
Ski Free Sundays at Howelsen Hill
Every Sunday of the season
It isn’t often you can say you’ve skied on North America’s oldest operating ski area. Ski free Sunday is the perfect opportunity to get some turns on historic Howelsen Hill!
Sunset Happy Hour
Every Thursday in March
What better way to spend an evening than enjoying the sunset at the top of the mountain with a drink, light appetizers, and live music.
Casino Night Fundraiser
March 9th
Join the Family Development Center for their annual fundraiser set in a Vegas-themed setting with blackjack, roulette, craps, and Texas hold ‘em. The Family Development Center supports over 450 families in our community and this event is a great way to have some fun and give back.
Beer & Backyard Ag
March 21st
As a ranching town, agriculture is so important in the Yampa Valley. Hosted at Storm Peak Brewery this event gives participants the chance to learn about backyard gardening, beekeeping, and more.
History of Perry Mansfield
March 21st
Tread of the Pioneers Museum and Friends of Perry Mansfield present the story of Perry Mansfield. This event begins with a snowshoe tour around the camp followed by a bonfire, warm beverages, and history and storytelling.
