2nd Quarter Market Update

As summer comes to an end and the days begin to shorten, there is a crisp feeling in the air that signals fall is coming. While the leaves begin to turn and the Valley starts to glow brilliant shades of reds, oranges, and golds, buyers return to Steamboat.

The first part of the second quarter of 2018 started slow with $57,504,500 in transactions. The pace of sales began to increase with May and June seeing $70,146,680 and $70,469,432 in transactions. These slightly lower numbers are expected as Steamboat experiences its slower months and there are fewer buyers in town. By July the Steamboat real estate market really began to ramp up with $91,358,344 in transactions, a 34.30% increase over July of 2017. The mountain area accounted for 47.82% of the total dollar volume for July continuing the mountain areas reign as leader for dollar volume and number of transactions this year.

Located in the mountain area, a highly coveted part of town, The Porches of Steamboat has seen an increase in sales in the past 60 days. We are excited to welcome three new owners to our Porches family:  Two fractional and 1 whole owner. Quality construction, incredible amenities, and unparalleled customer service is a guarantee that our current inventory won’t last long.

If last year’s numbers are any indication as we head into the fall months, we expect to see transactions increase as potential buyers return to Steamboat to enjoy the fall colors and the slower lifestyle of town during the off season.

We are looking forward to another wonderful fall in Steamboat and if you’re in the neighborhood, we welcome you to stop by and see our open house daily from 10am to 6pm.
