The 2018-2019 ski season is here and full of fun

We are having an incredible winter in Steamboat Springs with over 100 inches of snow already this season. As 2018 comes to a close, we are so grateful for the past year and the immense beauty of the town we live in. Heading into 2019 we kick off the New Year, the only way Steamboat knows how… with plenty of can’t miss events that bring the community together and invite us all to enjoy the great outdoors.

Can’t Miss Events:

First Friday Artwalk

January 4th

A favorite Steamboat event, be sure to head downtown for the First Friday Artwalk. Taking place on the first Friday of every month, local restaurants and galleries showcase work from a variety of artists. Each stop offers appetizers, wine, and a chance to talk to featured artists about their work.

Music Fest

January 5th through the 10th

One of the biggest events of the winter season, the Music Fest, brings together some of the best Texas and Americana music at the base of the ski resort. While many events may be sold out there are several downtown venues and other opportunities to watch these musicians showcase their talents.

Dance Theatre Annual Concert

January 17th through the 19th

The 47th Annual Dance Theatre brings together over 100 of Steamboat’s best dancers for a thrilling line up of performances. The theme of this year’s concert is Homegrown: Inspirations from a sense of place and feelings of belonging. All three nights of performances sell out quickly so be sure to get your tickets early!

Moonshine Ski & Dine

January 18th

This year marks the 13th year that Rocky Mountain Youth Corp has been hosting the Moonshine Ski & Dine. Head to Howelsen Hill for an evening of food, drinks, a silent auction, and a chance to snowshoe or cross country ski out on Howelsen’s trails. All proceeds from this event benefit Steamboat’s local youth programs and the Yampa Valley Science School.

Moonlight Snowshoe Tour

January 20th

Join Yampatika for a moonlight snowshoe tour on Emerald Mountain and get the chance to explore the beautiful trails by the light of the full moon. Registration is required and this event is 18 and older.

Cowboy Downhill

January 21st

A Steamboat staple for over 2 decades, the Cowboy Downhill is an event you don’t want to miss. Top rodeo cowboys from around the world come up to Steamboat and compete in a ski rodeo like nothing you’ve ever seen before. To kick off the events, head to Gondola Square for a 4H petting zoo, roping clinic, and meet and greet with the Denver Bronco Cheerleaders.
