Coming to the Yampa Valley for the 3rd year…

Founded in 2013 by Scott Stoughton, WinterWonderGrass (WWG) has grown into a national sensation with events held annually in Lake Tahoe, Stratton, and Steamboat Springs. This upcoming February 21st through 23rd marks WinterWonderGrass’s third time returning to the Yampa Valley.

For three days, the Upper Knoll parking lot is turned into a festival haven with tents, stages, a kid’s zone, VIP area, food trucks, beer and cocktail stations and so much more. WWG’s mission is to bring people together with the belief that, “when we come together with open hearts and open minds, bringing all of our differences and unique opinions, we begin to dissolve the illusion of separation from one another.” From our experience, this event has done just that, it is a wonderful thing to see, adults and children of all ages come together and dance to their hearts content. Come snow, sunshine, or more snow, nothing stops these crowds from coming out in their most festive attire.

Partnering with Waste Free Earth, over the past 5 years, the WWG crew and their vendors have worked tirelessly to lower the environmental of their events. This year in 2020, WWG is proud to announce that each event will have zero single-use plastic! Along with having metal, re-usable cups handed out to each guest there will also be recycling stations around the lot with staff there to help festival goers decide what goes in trash, compost, and recycling. Have a cup or water bottle of your own, feel free to bring it along just make sure it is empty when you go in the gates.

This year, WWG will go beyond the Upper Knoll lot with a Mtn Top Dinner where artists and fans gather at the top of the Gondola for a night of great food, drinks, and conversations. Various acts will also be playing on stages around Steamboat including at the Thunderhead Lodge, Schmiggity’s, and The Grand Ballroom.

Starting in a parking lot in Edwards, WWG has transformed into a festival that brings people together from across the nation to unite in their love of music in picturesque mountain settings. Steamboat is so excited to be WWG’s new Colorado home and we cannot wait for this year and all the years to come.
